What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
Having the privilege diagnose, treat, prescribe and observe the positive impact that I have in my patients. I enjoy listening and connecting with each patient. I am passionate about educating them about health maintenance and self care, discussing their concerns, managing their health issues individually, giving them resources to information that will help improve their lives.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
As a primary care provider, we are obligated to manage and treat both the behavioral health needs and physical health of our patients within our scope. We should be aware that they are equally important. I believe that we should help patients achieve optimal health by listening, examining, building trust, educating patients, providing them with resources, providing both holistic and evidence-based medical treatments. Also knowing when to refer a patient to a specialty care for collaborative management is an important role of a primary care provider.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family going to museums, parks, aquariums. I enjoy reading, meditating, yoga. I like to travel, food, wine and music. I'm always looking for great dining experiences in NY and CT.
