Dr. Pilkinton was so kind and receptive to my concerns. She valued everything I had to say and was warm and welcoming. I was nervous because it was my first time visiting a gynecologist but I had the best possible experience I could have had! She explained everything so clearly to me and made sure I understood.

Kimberly A. Pilkinton, M.D., M.P.H, is an associate professor for the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. Pilkinton is responsible for the development and continued improvement of the reproductive sciences courses for the medical school, as well as further development of the population and public health courses. In addition, she will be co-directing the Transition to Clerkships and Transition to Residency courses.
She joined the Fertitta Family College of Medicine from McGovern Medical School at UT Health where she helped direct the Reproductive Systems Module, co-directed the primary care fourth-year career-focused track and served as a faculty advisor, among other duties. Prior to McGovern Medical School, Pilkinton was a faculty member at Texas A&M College of Medicine for 15 years, where she served as a program director for the Texas A&M College of Medicine-Baylor Scott & White Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
In addition to teaching, Pilkinton has enjoyed practicing the full breadth of OB-GYN and reproductive sciences for over 20 years. She has run a high-risk abnormal pap clinic and conducted research on high-risk pregnancies.
A board-certified OB-GYN, Pilkinton is a member of the Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Association of Professors in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Society of Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, among other organizations.
Pilkinton earned a bachelor’s in biochemistry from the University of Dallas and a master’s in public health from UT Health School of Public Health. She earned her medical degree from McGovern Medical School at UT Health, graduating as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Texas A&M College of Medicine-Baylor Scott & White.
