Family Nurse Practitioner Kimberly Zachary strives to treat each person she cares for like a family member, actively listening and attempting to create an atmosphere of transparency and vulnerability. She wants people to know there should be no judgment or fear in the health journey collaboration process. Kimberly enjoys working as part of a health team, asking any questions of other providers that can create better care plans and outcomes.
Empowering the next generation of nurses is important to Kimberly as she educates students in the nursing simulation lab at Austin Community College. She has also volunteered for more than ten years at Austin Smiles, a nonprofit offering surgical care to children born with cleft lip and cleft palate. Kimberly cares for her own health by connecting with her family members on daily walks and traveling to experience different cultures. Nursing runs in the family as her mother is a nurse and Kimberly’s twin sister is also a nurse practitioner.
