Dr Zarkadas was wonderful but the wait times were outrageous.

2+ hours to be seen with an appointment. Upon one of my last visits, I was also asked to p*y the visit f*e plus c*sh in advance, for a blood test. Strange, right? A week later, and another f*e for the visit, and yet another 2 hours wait, closer to 3 hours actually, we went over the test results. A month later I get a bil* from Empire City Labs informing me that that Sugar Hill Medical did not p*y the fe* and I was now obligated to p*y, plus a late fe*. I contacted the office manager, emailed her over the invoice and I don't hear back. A week later she emails me to let me know the fee was paid and to ignore the bill. Then a second bill came. Then a third bill with a notice informing me it was going to go into collections if I didn’t make an immediate payment. I try to contact SHM again, but no one answers the phone unless accidentally. After many attempts, someone picked up and was on hold for 42 minutes, someone finally picks up only to hang up. I email multiple times in the next few days. No answer. Finally Dr. Zarkadas calls me and assures me he'll take care of the matter personally and will call me back with a confirmation number. He never does. I contact the Better Business Bureau about the matter and they told me there was already a case against the facility in progress and that they were going to add me to what was turning into a class action suit against SHM. Spoke to a lawyer who told me to pay the amount so my credit isn't harmed and we will pursue via a legal route. Aside from prescribing me a drug that was potentially more harmful than it would have helped, but it’s such a popular drug to scare people into taking, I’m certainly not going back there!

I went in for an illness, not a full exam, but even so, the exam was every cursory. It was my first visit but a full medical history was not taken. It was all very quick, which was convenient, but it did not leave me confident in the diagnosis, treatment or prescription. Also, they do not give timed appointments, just a range, for ex. 9am - 2pm on a particular date; and they did not ask me which date, but just assigned me one for my next visit. This scheduling method is very inconvenient for me and my complicated work schedule and they looked completely baffled when I said that I need to be asked not told what date to come in. I doubt I will return despite the efficiency and convenience.

I visited him with severe back pain. Felt like I was hit with a baseball bat. He recommended I see the Physical Therapist in the same building, but prescribed absolutely no medication whatsoever. That’s why I booked the appointment in the first place. Went back again the next day, he said he would send out the prescription. I went to the pharmacy, the prescription had not arrived in their system... I called 4 hours later... it STILL wasn’t there. I am appalled and completely frustrated at how difficult it has been to be treated for my pain.

While the Doctor himself was respectful and willing to help. The wait time was really bad...It doesn't help that when it comes to call backs for schedule visit they hardly call or barely care if they can reschedule...
I don't know if it's a discrimination thing, but it feels like one.
And the wait time over the phone is atrocious.
