Krishna C. Chunduri, M.D. is the Section Chief of Anesthesia and Director of Pain Medicine at Saint Anthony Hospital. He is a member of the International Spine Intervention Society and has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions using state-of-the-art image guided interventional injection techniques. He graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Biology, and then completed medical school receiving his medical degree from St. Georges University. At St. Louis University he completed a transitional internship followed by an anesthesiology residency where he took keen interest and trained extensively in pain management. Dr. Chunduri's specialty interests include interventional pain medicine, treatment of chronic pain, and effective treatment of the injured worker so as to ensure rapid return to the work place.

I submitted my insurance information prior to my appointment. To wait over 1.5 hrs so they can verify my insurance is brutal and disrespectful of my time as well. I received an order for an MRI for my back and told to come back in two weeks. The fact that I had extreme debilitating that wouldn't be addressed didn't help matters.

It's only when you receive the first insurance bill a month later that you find he's actually out-of-network and you get to pay the entire bill.

I could not believe that i was waiting in reception for so long. My appointment was at 230 and i wasn't even put in an exam room until 345. This has never happened before and normally I would not have been upset but I had an appointment with my shoulder surgeon at 345. I ended up missing that appointment and had to reschedule and the earliest he could get me in was two weeks later. And seeing my surgeon was much more important than my routine visit to Chunduri. I understand that sometimes doctors run behind but it would have been nice if someone had said that he was behind schedule. I could have rescheduled and made it to my more important appointment. Also I only needed to see Chunduri to pick up a prescription. I don't see why he couldn't have taken less than five minutes to write it and send me on my way.

Dr. Chunduri is the greatest physician that I have EVER seen!! Not only is Dr. Chunduri very smart and knowledgeable, but he also spends the necessary time with you to answer ALL of your questions. His bedside manner is just phenomenal!! The wait time can be a little long, but, you will be glad you waited. I don't know where I would be today if it weren't for Dr. Chunduri :)

Dr. Chunduri was wonderful. He put me at ease and made me feel that I was truly being heard. I had seen a different pain a management specialist before and I felt that dr Chunduri spent more time addressing my concerns in this initial visit than the other doctor did in all of my visits combined. I felt Dr. Chunduri and I had a conversation rather than I was lectured to. I appreciated his taking my educational background into consideration. It is very frustrating when a doctor does not do this and I feel I'm being talked down to.

I've been a patient of Dr. Chunduri's for a few months now. He listens throughly to what his patients are saying and then goes over what he believes to be the best treatment with you. I also noticed that when I have a appointment while waiting I talk with other patients of his and they agree that he's a excellent doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Chunduri. :-)

Dr. Chunduri is a great doctor...personable, informative, and very understanding. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends. The ONLY possible downside can be the wait time, which has been anywhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours for me depending on the day and location of the appointment. On the plus side, not only does he have office locations scattered across the city of Chicago, but he also holds appointments in the Northwest Suburbs, which is extremely thoughtful. In my own experience, the 1-2 hour wait times usually occur on the days he travels from the city to the suburbs (during rush hour mind you). I'm not one to complain when he goes out of his way to travel to his patients that live outside city limits, as you won't find many doctors willing to do this.

Dr. Chunduri is a very kind doctor, and seems to care about keeping patients pain free. His staff is very kind and courteous, and has been flexible with scheduling. My only negative comment would be that he seems to be in a hurry if you have an appointment earlier in the day. Besides that, he's been very helpful and actually cares about finding a solution to pain, not just managing it.
