I had a partial avulsion done after consulting with min clinic, and Dr. Lemming. Dr. B. Was very quick to re-evaluate the nail/nail bed and consider other testing when swelling continued after the 1st procedure. She took care in making sure she had all the facts before going any further.

Dr. Kristen Biel is a native Houstonian, and has been working since the Summer of 2011, after completing her doctorate school and residency program. She has always been a patient advocate, and her passion of lower extremity health led her to foot and ankle care for all ages. Dr. Biel is regarded by her patients as an attentive, gentle and caring physician.
Dr. Biel began her healthcare journey by earning a BS degree in Biology from Texas A&M Univeristy in 2004. Gig ‘em!! She then got her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) in 2008 from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Her post-graduate surgical residency training then brought her back to Houston where she held the position of Chief Resident and graduated in 2011. Her many years of schooling consisted of comprehensive training in trauma and reconstruction of the foot and ankle, including sports medicine, wound care, limb salvage and diabetic palliative care. Other rotations consisted in subspecialties of general, vascular and plastic surgery. This extensive training helped build the strong foundation that Dr. Biel now uses with her patients.
Throughout her career, Dr. Biel has remained involved and affiliated with various foot and ankle associations and also participates in local health fairs, and is Treasures of the Harris County Podiatric Medical Society. She is also a local representative for the Texas Podiatric Medical Association and is also an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Biel is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Her leisure time and passions consist of deep sea fishing, spending time with family and her two dogs, and baking.

Our appointment today was very pleasant. We were seen by Dr. Biel very timely and she gave full attention to the patient (my son) while giving a thorough exam. My son was able to explain the problems he is experiences with his foot and the doctor was very intent on listening so that she could prescribe the best treatment. I will recommend Dr. Biel to other people.

I chose to visit Dr. Biel's office based on a recommendation and online reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by the wait time and the spirit in the office.
The waiting area was clean, tidy, and presented a professional medical appearance while maintaining a relaxing atmosphere.
The only delay in seeing Dr. Biel was a short questionnaire for new patients; as soon as I finished I was called in to a room.
Dr. Biel's staff were courteous and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work, a quality rarely seen these days.
The exam room was sanitary and comfortable. I had no qualms about having an outpatient operation performed today.
Dr. Biel herself was cheerful, good-humored, and enthusiastic. She made what could have been an abhorrent, torturous procedure (ingrown toenail removal) into an absolutely delightful experience.
I will most certainly return to Dr. Biel's office for the permanent nail removal procedure in a few weeks. I will also recommend, as I did at lunch today, Dr. Biel for any podiatry needs in the Houston area.

Somehow they all helped make this a pleasant experience. And I have to thank my wonderful wife for being there with me to ease my anxiety!
And if you go to the 9055 Katy Frwy location, Pappy's Cafe is right next door! Great food!

Dr. Biel is great! And I what I think is even more important is that her front office staff is just as great. Everyone was very friendly and ready to help. Even though Dr. Biel was backed up a bit from surgery, I could tell she was doing a good balance of giving all of her patients the time they needed, but not wasting time inbetween to see all her patients.
She explained what was going to happen and what to expect in the near future. I wish her and her office was my GP!

I wanted an appointment for the next day, and Dr. Biel had one opening. I went in for ingrown toenails, and I wanted the procedure done the same day, but several of her staff members had informed me that it might not be possible since I had an appointment so late in the day (4:15 PM). I really didn't want to come back another day for the procedure, but Dr. Biel came in ready to do the procedure! She explained my different options, and once she started the procedure, she explained every step of it. She was very personable and friendly. She was also very skilled, and the procedure was done quickly. Her nurse explained how to take of it at home, and Dr. Biel told me to call her if I needed anything or had any questions. I would definitely recommend her!

The wait time was a little longer than I would have liked, but if one takes into account that I was a new patient on a Friday after a holiday when it appears that every other doctor in Houston was off it was worth the wait. The office was also apologizing every chance for the wait which NO other doctor's office ever does! She wasn't pushy either when it came to treatment options so that was extremely nice unlike my last podiatrist ten some odd years ago.
