She applies her extensive medical training and personal warmth and empathy in assessing and diagnosing a variety of mental health conditions. Direct, honest, and forthcoming, Dr. Joshi explains medical lingo in plain and simple language to help patients understand the mind-body connection. She advocates and encourages patients to try psychotherapy and believes in prescribing medication only if absolutely indicated. Dr. Joshi takes the time to discuss at length her assessment, diagnosis, and various treatment options so that patients and parents feel confident in making informed decisions. She effectively builds trust and rapport with adolescents and young adults, empowering them to be active participants in their own treatment, which leads to greater compliance and success. Parents are kept informed and provided with guidance on how best to support their children.
Double-board certified in child and adult psychiatry, Dr. Joshi works primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults. She has also completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry from Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Joshi received her Medical Degree from India and completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

She's an all around MD for my daughter. She listens and thoroughly explains all of her medical decisions. My daughter also feels extremely comfortable with Dr. Joshi.

I was very happy to meet with Dr. Joshi regarding my son Sebastian. She was very easy to talk to and explained everything very clearly and was happy to talk about different options to treat Sebastian's ADHD instead of telling me what I should do. Will definitely go back to see her.
