What Kwan Chun, MD loves most about being a family physician is getting to know patients through every stage of their lives. Having worked in outpatient primary care, hospitals, critical care, obstetrics, and newborn nurseries, he has always felt comfortable with anyone seeking medical care in his exam room. On any given workday, he may end up providing a wide variety of services such as giving advice to a first-time mother trying to figure out breastfeeding, helping an adolescent with their acne, performing an intrauterine device insertion, providing injections for someone’s painful carpal tunnel syndrome, teaching a patient with diabetes how to adjust their insulin, or talking to a senior patient and their family caregiver about advanced care planning.
Throughout his career, he’s had the honor of caring for pregnant women (including attending hospital births), children, their parents and grandparents throughout every stage of their lives. Having a strong foundation in volunteering at local free clinics and healthcare justice organizations, as well as years of working as a primary care physician for a county health system, Kwan has had the privilege of caring for patients from all walks of life. He is a certified Spanish-speaking physician.

Great experience. Friendly, professional staff. The doctor was great, listened to concerns, offered suggestions as well as solutions. Great at putting me at ease. I felt comfortable discussing my situation.

The Visit was very superficial. I don't think he asked enough questions or really was concerned about my overall health.. I actually have another appointment which I plan on counseling. Because I ordered all of these different tests. Is blood work a neurologist appointment that I can't even get in contact with that he. Referred me to his office. Can't get the referral sent over to the neurologist. So that's a terrible mess they're referral. System doesn't work because they don't do their part on their end. So I don't like this doctor's office. I'm hoping to change doctors very soon. And I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone in my family. I don't even know how I'm gonna get the blood work done or the referral To the neurologist, they're very unhelpful in this office and they rush you through your appointment. They don't have that very good personal touch that I was expecting

I would describe my experience as "mostly good," although, I can't say that I've LOVED any patient experience in a physician's office. I mostly go because I "should" and not really for any particular medical concern. I will say that it seemed like he skirted around my height/weight probably because my BMI is high (i'm 4 10, 140lbs, however I have an athletic build and probably more muscular than the average short gal). And while I don't have a "runner's" body, I've always been fit so it's weird to see an MD guide his wellness care around BMI still. While there ARE true concerns to obesity in America, he didn't seem to take into consideration my actual lifestyle versus #s on a paper (i.e. my VS are well within range). I do like how efficient and digital the office seems to be (Carbon Health is like that, it seems, in my previous experiences). I'll probably go again should any issues come up in my pending lab work, but it's just as well if I visited another physician.

It was fine, it was expedient. But I got a bad feeling from the doctor, super condescending. I tried to forget about it on the first visit, but wound up having a bad follow up experience. I didn't feel believed or respected, and proper care doesn't really come from a place like that. Finding someone new. The office staff were nice, though.

Have been searching for a Primary Care Physician since the unexpected departure of our long time doctor. Requested a ‘meet & greet’ appointment with Dr. Chun to determine if the office was a good fit moving forward.
Was a bit surprised as they were ready to begin the blood pressure and vitals before I actually met Dr. Chun. That said, the staff was extremely efficient and Dr. Chun was kind and professional. Happy to have found an office that is efficient, communicative and professional. Look forward to continuing my health care with Dr. Chun and his team.
