Originally from southern India, Dr. Kannan joins Coordinated Health with an emphasis on patient education and specialized care. She received the “Candidate of the year 2019” award from ABOM (American Board of Obesity Medicine)
“A major part of my practice is obesity medicine, which is a budding field where we focus on not just chronic endocrine conditions but the actual root cause of them,” said Dr. Kannan. “Excess body fat is not just a cosmetic problem, it’s a metabolic problem, so as part of my fellowship I opted to train in obesity medicine, and that is a special interest that I carry.
“I chose Coordinated Health because I see this as a very unique opportunity to bring together many specialties to address endocrine and metabolic problems and treat the person as an individual,” said Dr. Kannan. “At Coordinated Health you get the personalized care that you deserve.”
Dr. Kannan is married to a bariatric surgeon with two young daughters. She has classical training in singing and dancing, and she enjoys cooking and going outdoors with her family.
