I have been referred by my Ob/gyn to see Dr. Lama Tolaymat. I was not sure why I needed to see here however, I followed my OB advice and made an appointment. As soon as I called the office of Dr. Tolaymat at Sunshine Perinatology, her staff was able to schedule me within a few days. Throughout my first meeting with Dr. Lama, she took the time to carefully explain to me why I was referred to her. Dr. Tolaymat took beautiful pictures of my baby in print and CD. I felt she spent more time with me than any doctor I have every seen and she never looked like she in in a rush. Although I only saw her once, I recommend her to any patient who needs an excellent perinatologist.

Dr. Lama Tolaymat is an amazing doctor! She takes all the time needed to explain everything and she is very personable. I had a very difficult pregnancy with many complications. However, Lama was able to resolve my complications and I had a health and beautiful baby. Thank you, Lama & May God Bless You!!!

Dr.Tolaymat is a double board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/GYN) and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). Additionally, Dr. Tolaymat holds a Master in Epidemiology/Public Health (MPH) and she is a Registered Sonographer.
Above and beyond, Lama is the first recipient to be awarded the Mini-Sabbatical Grant by the Pregnancy Foundation also known as the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine Foundation and the first Middle Eastern woman doctor who researched and published in the area of cervical length in pregnancy.
As a teacher, she has taught hundreds of students and residents in OB/GYN and received several teaching awards (e.g. Golden Apple Award 09-10 and University of Florida Exemplary Teachers Award 2007). Besides, Lama has been an active lecturer in medical conferences across the US and had been invited to lecture around the globe.
Perhaps the most important of all her qualifications and recognitions is Lama’s passion and devotion to her patients, her love to medicine, her high levels of medical ethics, her respect towards others, her solid personal values, her concern to social matters within her community and outside her community and all done with Lama’s utmost humble charm that is truly God’s gift, admired and recognizable by anyone who has the pleasure in meeting Dr. Lama Tolaymat.
