He attended the University of South Florida, where he received his medical degree, and completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of South Florida Health. Dr. Simkins completed his residency in internal medicine at the same institution. He continued his training by completing a fellowship in general cardiovascular medicine at the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Dr. Simkins completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the same institution. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in from the University of Florida, Gainesville.
Dr. Simkins is a part of Tenet Florida Physician Services. He is board certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and in internal medicine and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Society of Internal Medicine.
