The doctor was running late, so I was offered the option of waiting for her or seeing a nurse practitioner instead. I opted to see the NP (Aima Payton), so I only waited about 10 minutes after my appointment time. Nurse Payton was very nice and helpful, she asked a lot of questions and gave me the specialist referral I needed. The front desk staff was also organized, polite, and helpful. Overall, a great experience.

Dr. Hofmann gave a very complete physical. She let me know both what would happen before and what the results were after the tests were completed. We were able to work on a health plan together and there was no pressure to agree to tests or vaccines that I felt were not necessary. Overall, a very good experience.

Laura Hofmann is a compassionate primary care doctor and family physician serving her patients and their families in Washington, DC. Dr. Hofmann is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and affiliated with the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Hofmann received her medical education from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She began her postdoctoral training with an internship in family medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and completed her training with a residency in family medicine at the same facility. Dr. Hofmann has been seeing patients since 2006, when she began working as an assistant professor and coordinator of the inpatient adult medical service at the Department of Family and Community Medicine. She continued her role as professor until 2010, when she began serving her community as a family physician at the Mary’s Center for Maternal and Child Care. In August 2013, Dr. Hofmann began serving with the MedStar Medical Group as the facility medical director and family physician.

Dr. Laura Hoffman was great! very attentive, took her time to listen and explain things thoroughly. However, I left Multiple (more than three) messages for her, the office manager / Nurse Admin and I never received a callback or email regarding my question. For this reason, I will be seeking another doctor's office.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Hofmann and I was very pleasantly surprised. She listened to my concerns and made clear she wanted to help me sort out the medical issues I have been dealing with and not brush them off. She was very thorough with her questioning and spent about an hour with me (unheard of in this day and age), and ordered a number of tests to help get to the bottom of some issues.

We've had several new patient and follow-up appointments for two parents and two kids, and really appreciate Dr. Hofmann's whole approach. Careful questions, attentiveness to answers, a good sense of humor, and very helpful explanations and instructions. Feeling really lucky we found her and her practice so close to us!

After having unpleasant experiences with previous doctors where 1-2 hour minimum wait times followed by the briefest of consultations were the norm, my interactions with Dr. Hoffman have been fantastic. The wait times are minimal usually less than ten or fifteen minutes. The consultation with Dr. Hoffman herself is thorough and not rushed. She honestly cares about the well-being of her patients. Highly recommended.

While Dr. Hofmann seems like a great doctor, I have had my appointment cancelled and rescheduled at least four times in the past year. After basing my entire schedule on appointment times confirmed by Zocdoc, then having the office call me to say it wasn't available. I would then confirm a new time with the office directly. Only for it to be cancelled a few weeks later. It is not worth going to this office if you're using ZocDoc (which I do like!).

My travel time on the Metro is about an hour and a half just to see Dr Hofmann. There are plenty of Dr's in my area but I was blessed to come across Dr Hofmann, and it is worth the travel time. Upon my first visit she took time to understand my history and get to know me as her patient. Her bedside manner is excellent. When I know I am coming to see her I am not nervous. She is very thorough and takes time, I never feel rushed when I see her. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Hofmann.

Dr. Hofmann is, aside from my childhood pediatrician, my favorite doctor I've ever had... and I've only seen her once. She is so reassuring and forthcoming, takes a holistic approach in her decisionmaking, is super-thorough, never talks down to you, and treats you as an equal in your care. She also is an English undergrad, and it shows in her communication style and skill. I wanted to hug her after my very first visit! Her medical staff was also AMAZING - couldn't feel any needles!
