Laura E. Irastorza, MD is a board-certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist. She is a native Floridian and attended Florida State University where she received both her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science as well as her Doctorate of Medicine.
She then completed her Pediatric Residency training at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital/ USC School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. She received awards for her quality improvement initiatives as well as served on the hospital’s ethics committee. She went on to complete her Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children/University of Florida.
She has published multiple papers in the Journal for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition and currently sits on the NASPGHAN Training Committee. Her interests include nutrition, medical education, and pediatric advocacy.
She has expertise in treating patients with eosinophilic esophagitis, constipation, reflux, and functional GI disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome. Dr. Irastorza and her husband are happy to be back in South Florida. They enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends.
