She earned a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and a master's degree in Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Prior to pursuing her medical studies she spent two years engaged in biomedical research at UCLA. She earned her medical degree from Touro University — Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following her education, she completed her residency in family medicine at Firelands Regional Hospital in Sandusky, Ohio. Dr. Pokomo's philosophy of care centers around prevention and education to empower her patients to live their best and healthiest lives. She strives to provide a safe space to discuss her patient's concerns and develop a treatment plan to help maintain and restore their health. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, environmental illness and nutrition as medicine. When she is not at work, Dr. Pokomo enjoys cooking, crafts and the great outdoors.
