Dr. Schneider was attentive and easy to talk to. She explained everything and was respectful and knowledgable. The only complaint I have is having to wait almost a 1/2 hour to be seen, and at the end of the visit, having to wait another 10-15 minutes for a machine to be available.

Dr. Lauren Schneider is a board-certified specialist in the medical and surgical management of cornea and external diseases. In addition to cataract surgery and specialized corneal procedures, she also performs state-of-the-art refractive surgery, including LASIK and PRK.
Dr. Schneider received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where she graduated Cum Laude. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Schneider graduated in the top 3% of her medical school class, thus earning an early induction into the highly respected Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Schneider completed her medical internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City and then completed her residency training in ophthalmology at the esteemed New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in Manhattan. Following residency, she acquired her fellowship training in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at the renowned Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Schneider is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She has presented original research at nationwide conferences, and is a published author of articles and book chapters pertaining to corneal disorders and the artificial cornea (keratoprosthesis). Dr. Schneider also holds a clinical teaching position at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Schneider is a caring and compassionate physician, who is committed to providing the highest quality care to her patients. She specializes in the diagnosis and management of corneal disorders, including keratoconus, Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy, inherited corneal dystrophies, herpetic keratitis, and dry eye syndrome. She is a trained surgeon in corneal transplantation, laser vision correction surgery (LASIK and PRK), premium intraocular lenses, and femtosecond-assisted cataract surgery using the latest laser technology for eye surgery. Dr. Schneider strives to improve the quality of life of her patients through vision correction procedures, and she uses advanced techniques that enable her to customize cataract surgery for each individual patient’s needs.

Dr. Schneider was very good and thorough. The bedside manner was very good.
The cancelled my original appointment because of a power failure, I was rescheduled a few days later that is hen I waited over an hour beyond my appointment time. Total time was 2 hours from when my appointment was supposed to be until I walked out after completion.

Dr. Schneider gave me a most thorough eye exam. She discovered a slight astigmatism and adjusted my prescription accordingly. My vision is so crisp and clear now. Dr. Schneider is very knowledgable. She answered all my concerns and explained things very clearly to me. Her kind and professional manner made me very comfortable. I recommend Dr. Schneider and plan on returning to her office for my annual exams and future cataract surgery.

My visit was outstanding. I have been blind in left eye for more than 2 1/2 years. From the VA. Right after Dr Schneider finished operating I was able to see and no pains. I can only say from the bottom of my heart how grateful I am.

Dr. Schneider is an excellent doctor. Due to rare case of severe conjunctivitis I had to visit her office several times. Each visit Dr. Schneider was on schedule and attentive. Dr. Schneider was very accessible and helpful. She had a lot of expertise regarding my condition and assisted me during a difficult period. the office staff was also very professional and helpful.

She was very patient and took the time to explain everything that she was doing during the course of the examination. The prescription she provided was the best I ever had.
