Really happy with the entire visit - from the front desk, to the nurse, to the doctor and then check out. Everyone was great! This office has a small, personal feel which is a nice change from some of the mega practices I've visited over the years. Dr. Smith is my new doc now!

Dr. Laurette N. Smith was born in London, England to an East Indian mother and an English father. At 4 months of age, her family moved to Miami, Florida, where she grew up. She left Miami for college in 1985 and attended Colgate University, a small liberal arts college in Upstate New York, from which she graduated with a major in Spanish Language and Literature in 1989. She then returned to South Florida to attend the University of Miami School of Medicine and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society. She completed her residency in OB/GYN at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, TX, working at various hospitals including Hermann Hospital, LBJ County Hospital and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Smith joined Renaissance Women's Group in 1999. She is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Laurette enjoys classical music, piano, swimming, racquetball, rollerblading, and spending time with her daughter Sonali.

The visit was fine. It was nice that she was apologetic about the wait time. She didn't breeze into the room like so many other doctors, saying nothing of the fact they are very late. She answered my questions and was receptive to my concerns. She was very knowledgable about all the items we discussed.
