Leah Concannon, M.D., is a sports medicine physician with the Sports Concussion Program, Spine Center, and Sports Medicine Center at Harborview and a UW Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois, Chicago, graduating with College Honors. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by a residency in Rehabilitation Medicine and a fellowship in Sports and Spine Rehabilitation at the University of Washington. She is board certified in both Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Concannon strives to create active partnerships with her patients to achieve the best possible outcomes. She believes that taking the time to listen to patients’ stories and educate them about their condition is the best way to form a collaborative relationship.
Her clinical interests include the prevention and treatment of sports-related injuries in athletes of all levels and ages. As a former collegiate gymnast, she has a special interest in gymnasts and dancers, female athletes, adolescents with low back pain, and sports concussions. Her research interests include hypermobility in gymnasts and management of sports concussions.
