Dr. Yamamoto is originally from San Diego, California. She earned two bachelor's degrees, one in Psychology and on in Cell and Molecular Biology from UCSD and SDSU followed by her medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California. Following her education, she moved to Kingman, Arizona to complete a Family Practice Residency at Kingman Regional Medical Center after proudly serving in the United States Navy. She was recruited out of Residency to serve as a Hospitalist, providing care for the critically ill.
“I believe the health of the physician-patient relationship affects the health of the patient. Active listening, trust-building and partnership with my patients help nurture our relationship. My job as a physician is to try to understand my patient as a whole so that I can offer individualized education, guidance and evidence-based advice that allows my patient to make important decisions about their health.”
As a primary care provider, Dr. Yamamoto enjoys watching her patients continue to thrive from childhood to adulthood, addressing their healthcare needs and optimizing their lives. She is passionate about geriatrics and preventive medicine.
When she is not at work, she enjoys her family and plethora of animals, which include myotonic goats, llamas, inedible turkeys, goofy chickens, angry cobra chickens (geese) and ducks.
