Just curiosity. My appointment was 1PM and I checked in at 12:50 PM. at 1:05 PM, a patient walk in and says she's late, had appointment at 12:45 PM. Then who should be seen first? I came on time and theother patient late. In my case, the patient who had 12:45 PM appointment, who showed up 20 minutes late, 5 minute after my appointment time, was seen first. I ended up waiting more than 30 minutes before I was seen. This is solely the reception issue. The doctor, Dr. Markman, is fantastic. Great bedside manner, always makes phone calls herself, in a very timely manner, when and if needed, for follow ups. I would highly recommend her.

I've had gestational diabetes and went to Markman to check on some strange swings I've been having. I prefer docs who are quick and on time, so I went to her, but she was pretty unhelpful. Avoided my questions and handedme a nutritionist's card. Told me to get a blood test at my next physical. I told her I was ready to get one right then, so she then went and grabbed the phlebotomist. Then headed out and asked her co-workers "who's ready for lunch?"

Granted, I visited Dr. Markman in 2013 (three years ago), but I've always meant to write a review. I saw her due to alopecia/hair loss, and I admitted that I was devastated from the experience, and that I was in therapyfor it. all I remember from the appointment was this one thing she said to me, after I also told her I had been diagnosed with PCOS, she said "well at leas you don't have hair growing out of your face." Ahhhh! I am not super sensitive nor do I require people to speak with political correctness, but this was a ridiculous comment. It's so ridiculous that I'm not going to publish this result. I don't want to ruin her zocdoc career. I just hope she's learned some emotional intelligence since then.

I was recommended to go an endocrinologist by my dermatologist because of a skin issue that could be a result of an underlying endocrine disorder. Right away, Dr. Markman was quick to say my dermatologist was wrong and this issue couldnot be related to an endocrine disorder. However, she would run tests anyways. The tests came back inconclusive. I went back to my dermatologist about a year later and he strongly recommended I get another opinion ,so I went to a different endocrinologist. They discovered the underlying issue within days. My skin issue has since been resolved. I wonder if she was not so quick to dismiss my dermatologist's opinion if this could have been solved a year ago....

I just want to note that if a doctor is on maternity leave, you should have someone covering your patients especially if your patients absolutely cannot live without their medication. I have contacted this office everyday from Dec 7-11, 2015with no response or anyone getting back to me about renewing my prescription. On Dec 14th I finally found out the Dr. Markman was on maternity leave and that no one was covering her patients. I was informed that my GP was to contact them and my GP could prescribe the medication. My GP called 3 times that day and had no one respond to her. I called Dr. Markman's office again and tried to get someone to email/fax my records to my GP so that I could get a prescription. No one responded nor got me the prescription I needed before the holidays. I went for 3 weeks without my prescription. I had to find another doctor to help me. Today I get a phone call from Dr. Markman's office saying they renewed my prescription for 30 days. It's now Feb 2. How do you suppose I'm suppose to live without prescription from Dec to Feb? And the phone call was as if she was doing me a favor by giving me another 30 days before I make a visit. Thanks but no thanks. A little late don't you think? I have always had a great experience with Dr. Markman but the office is so disorganized. I will not be coming back to this office nor do I recommend Dr. Markman unless she has a better dedicated staff and support. I need a doctor I can rely on.

Dr Markman would be a good doctor to see if your diabetes was under control and you were just checking in, renewing scripts etc. she's knowledgable and to the point. if your disease is out of control and you have actualissues you want to work on, go elsewhere. I've seen her about 6 times and never had an appointment longer than 5 minutes. Each time I waited in the waiting room far past my appointment time, and then got a very hurried appointment. If I expressed any anxieties about my illness she would ask if I was "taking antidepressants yet" which I felt was inappropriate. Most egregious though was The fact that she went on leave without scheduling a doc who could renew prescriptions for her while she's away. Now I have to find a new doc, pay a new copay, take time off work etc just to get my insulin prescription. When I do find that new doc, I certainly will be staying with him/her for my care from now on.

I have diabetes, and I admittedly haven't been taking great care of myself. I came to her to tell her I want to turn my life around and do better than I have been doing, and that I wanted to geta Dexcom sensor to help. She made me feel small and stupid for everything I said and for the fact that I haven't taken good care of myself lately. She even implied a Dexcom might not be worth my time or money since I do such a bad job with my diabetes. Left feeling very depressed and lost all the motivation I'd had to get better. I had even put in my medical issues that I suffer from anxiety and depression. :(
