Getting to know Lisa Scarlatella

*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete required intake forms prior to your appointment.* As an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I am dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health care that addresses your unique needs. I hold an Associate's degree from Raritan Valley Community College, a Bachelor's degree from Chamberlain University - North Brunswick, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where I graduated with Sigma Theta Tau honors. I bring both academic excellence and practical experience to my practice. My background includes working in university settings with young adults, where I developed a passion for helping individuals navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, and stress relief. Additionally, I have experience supporting older adults and offering compassionate care through life's transitions. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing medication management and supportive therapy for conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, personality disorders like borderline personality disorder, and situational stressors. My approach is centered on whole-person care, always considering the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of your well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in a collaborative and personalized approach to treatment. Each of my patients is unique, and together, we will create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and values. My style is rooted in empathy, active listening, and respect for your experiences. I’m particularly effective at providing supportive therapy and careful, individualized medication management. My goal is to ensure that you feel heard, supported, and motivated throughout the entire process. I focus on building a partnership with you, where we work as a team to navigate challenges and celebrate your progress. I want you to know that I am with you every step of the way, offering encouragement and guidance as you make positive changes in your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our sessions, I prioritize understanding what is most important to you. I take the time to explore your concerns, any worries about treatment or medications, and how various aspects of your lifestyle might impact your care. Our sessions will not be rushed; I want you to feel comfortable sharing your story and trusting that I am fully present with you. You can expect a thorough, compassionate approach that respects your pace and preferences from the initial evaluation to each follow-up appointment. I see myself as your mental health advocate, ensuring you feel empowered in your care and that all decisions are made with your best interests in mind. We’ll develop a tailored plan that considers all aspects of your life, whether that means managing side effects, adjusting medications, or simply finding better ways to cope with stress. My commitment is to help you feel less alone in this journey, providing a safe space where you can truly thrive.
