Dr. Loren Jones was raised in southern Illinois and received his bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He then attended the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine. He completed his six-year urology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He recently moved to Austin with his family to join The Urology Team.
During his residency, Dr. Jones developed an interest in male infertility, learning microsurgical techniques for vasectomy reversal and sperm retrieval for use in assisted reproductive techniques (IVF, ICSI). He also has an interest in minimally-invasive surgery, treating a wide variety of urologic conditions with different techniques, including laparoscopy, robotic surgery, laser surgery for BPH, and minimally-invasive kidney stone extraction. He treats all general urologic conditions including bladder, kidney, and prostate cancers, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and low testosterone.
Dr. Jones has published a book chapter on the treatment of male infertility. He has also been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at regional, national, and international meetings on many urologic topics.
