I thought the doctor and the technicians were good. I would have felt better had someone told me that there had been an emergency and because of that, the doctor was running behind. And, when I called to let them know I had run into traffic and might be a few minutes late, the recording said the office was closed with no other explanation.

Dr. Murphy was born and raised in Houston, TX. After graduating from Clear Lake High School, she attended The University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and then completed her medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston
With a deep appreciation for the gift of vision, she decided to pursue an ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Throughout this training, she learned that a good relationship with her patients is fundamental to providing high quality health care. Dr. Murphy firmly believes taking time to educate patients on their eye conditions and to discuss prevention and management is essential to providing patients with a great experience.
She is available for routine eye exams and for the evaluation of many general eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal diseases. Her surgical interests include cataract surgery, pterygium excision, and basic plastic procedures.
Dr. Murphy enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Her hobbies are centered around her love for the outdoors and exercise which includes: hiking, biking, kayaking, and kickboxing.

Don't let the front staff dissuade you from Dr. Murphy; they do zero to make one feel welcome - especially a new patient. It's as if you are bothering them, but I took it in stride, loving them as individuals and understanding they probably don't have the customer service training a front desk should have. In my experience, the first to greet can make or break a Doctor's practice.
Let me just say how impressed I was with Juan - Dr. Murphy's assistant! He was professional without being a snob or jerk, has a terrific bed side manner - a true healing touch of humanity! I even told Dr. Murphy she ought to compensate him well.
Dr. Murphy is a sweet tiny little thing with the compassion and care that a believer in Christ should reflect - supersized to match no other physician out there that I have EVER dealt with. She is a real gem of a human being and knows her stuff.

Dr. Lori is a consummate professional and very honest. I appreciate her recommendations and professional opinion. I was very grateful for her to have received my last November when I had though I had another eye emergency. She made feel comfortable and at ease; especially that I didn't have health insurance at that time. I definitely recommend her for future appointments.

Office & staff seemed a bit unorganized but one of them mentioned that they were trying a new system so that may have something to do it with. Aside from that and a small wait to be seen, staff was lovely and Dr. Murphy was great at explaining.
