Louis Kim, M.D. is chief of Neurological Surgery at Harborview Medical Center and professor and vice chairman of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University and completed a Master's degree at the University of Washington. Dr. Kim completed his residency in Neurological Surgery and a fellowship in Endovascular Neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute. He strives to create active partnerships with his patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Kim specializes exclusively in the treatment of cerebrovascular and spinal vascular lesions such as brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and cavernous malformations. He is board-certified in neurological surgery and is part of a select group of neurosurgeons across the U.S. fellowship-trained in both open vascular/skull base microsurgery and endovascular techniques for treating cerebrovascular and spinal vascular diseases.
His clinical research focuses on patient outcome measures and refinements of surgical and endovascular techniques in aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, skull base tumor, and cavernous malformation surgery.
