Dr. McIntyre was born and raised in Westchester County and currently resides in White Plains with his wife, Lizanne O’Toole and their five children.
He is a graduate of Pleasantville High School and the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. He earned his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla received the Cor et Manus Award for service to the college. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the Long Island Jewish campus of the Albert Einstein Medical Center.
He studied arthroscopy and sports medicine with Dr. Richard Caspari in Richmond, Virginia at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. Dr. McIntyre has been in practice in Westchester since 1994 and specializes in the use of arthroscopy to treat shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist and ankle injuries.
Dr. McIntyre has lectured in the United States and abroad on the subject of shoulder and knee arthroscopy and has published several articles in peer review journals and publications on a variety of topics including knee and shoulder arthroscopy, electronic medical records, evidence based medicine and health care reform. He has been a Master Instructor at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago, Illinois and serves on the Board of Directors of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and is currently Treasurer of the organization. Locally, he is a Westchester County delegate to the Medical Society of the State of New York and serves on the Westchester County Association Blue Ribbon Committee on Healthcare Reform. He is the Vice President of the Westchester County Medical Society and will be President in 2014. Dr. McIntyre is the team doctor for the White Plains School District and serves on the Loucks Games Committee at the High School.

Dr. McIntyre's assistant was quite helpful and informative, however, it felt like Dr. McIntyre was really not interested in my injury or explanation since it wasn't severe enough for surgery. He seemed somewhat irritated that I came to him for my "run of the mill" knee problem. He spent a total of about 3 minutes listening to me (hardly listening) and then just assigned me to some physical therapy and walked out.

I thought Dr. McIntyre was very professional, knowledgeable, prompt and responsible. He didn't make the mistake of over testing (e.g., MRIs, etc.) or over-reacting to what turned out to be a simple problem. I would recommend him and plan on returning if I need to.

I was a little displeased but only because I wanted to talk more about my aches and pains. The doctor was very professional He asked all the questions he needed for his assessment and based on it he did what he thought necessary. I felt I could not express other factors that might have contributed to my injuries. He did not deviate from his line of questions referring to my medical history.

My experience with Dr. McIntyre was completely different this time around. In December, I would have given him 5 stars overall. However, last 2 times I have seen him, he had terrible bedside matter. He treated me and my husband as if we were complete ignorant people. He gave me some terrible news about my MRI results and he would not allow me ask questions. He was pretty much like "this is what I am telling you. there is no need for further questions." On the positive side, the office is very clean and we waited only 20 minutes before we saw him.

During my appointment everything was fine. My X-ray was taken on site and Dr. Louis was very polite and professional. He asked me to do a bone scan, and for that, I needed an authorization from my insurance company. I'm still waiting for this authorization, it's been almost 30 days now. I've already spoke with the UHC, and they are waiting for a feedback from the clinic, but aparently, they don't know how to work (actualy they don't know how to use a phone either, cause everytime they said that they would call me, they NEVER did, I was the one to make all the calls). I'm going back today to the clinic to get my X ray, and I'm gonna see another doctor.
