Dr. Lucia Patino graduated with honors from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. As a student, she was president of the student chapter of VOSH and traveled as a student to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Peru on various mission trips. After graduation, she moved to NY to complete a residency in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at SUNY. She opened up her solo private practice in Queens, NY in April 2008. Dr. Patino has presented nationally on keratoconus, amblyopia, and vision therapy. She is one of the first to receive diplomate status from the American Board of Optometry. She is an active member of American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, the International Keratoconus Academy, and is an InfantSEE provider.
Patino Eye Care moved to a new location in the summer of 2015 to a new, high tech office with in-office laboratory and all digital equipment. The office is a brand new beautiful 2000 square feet working area on busy Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights.
Dr. Patino is currently on staff at SUNY College of Optometry as an Adjunct Professor and teaches fourth year students. She is also very active in the community and provides vision screenings and educational workshops for the community.

It’s ridiculous to spend 2 hours at an optometrist office for prescription glasses. I found her staff unsatisfactory due to communication problems, and I felt as if they were up-selling me on unnecessary “upgrades”. When I asked a sales associate why a certain lens coating was necessary, she did not have a clear answer. In the end, the optometrist did not approve of the coating so PLEASE BE AWARE OF WHAT THEY’RE TRYING TO SELL YOU. It’s best to get your prescription here and buy your frames someone else for a quarter of the price.
