My wait was due to the staff making a same day appointment. Dr. Nieves took the time to read & review the MRI's & reports I had. He was not in a rush- Dr. listened to me, gave me information & hope. First Dr. in a very long time that treated me like a person, not a "number" or a "cash cow." I highly recommend the Dr. His staff was also friendly, concerned & extremely well organized.

Dr. Luis Nieves is an ACGME fellowship-trained, board-certified interventional pain management, sports medicine and family medicine physician.
Dr. Nieves obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He trained for two years in anesthesiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston before returning to North Texas to complete his family medicine residency at John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth.
Following this, he completed a fellowship in sports medicine at JPS Health Network. He then was one of a select few trained in interventional pain management at an innovative JPS Health Network and UT Southwestern Medical Center combined fellowship program. Dr. Nieves successfully blends the compassion and holistic approach of a family medicine doctor with the restorative knowledge of a sports medicine doctor and the skilled hands and innovative therapies of a pain management physician.
Dr. Nieves uses his extensive training and experience to diagnose and treat a wide range of sports, orthopedic or pain conditions affecting young and old patients. Through a compassionate approach, Dr. Nieves uses innovative treatments to help his patients.

Everyone and everything about this location was about getting narcotics. I needed to see a sports medicine doctor to get a problem with my knee looked at, but more than 5 times people talked to me about getting narcos and they even tried to set up an appointment a month from my visit "for a refill" when I didn't even get a prescription. They said they would set up an MRI appointment that day and call me but I have yet to hear back from anyone. A waste of a hour and a half wait .
