Dr.Etezady is a child psychoanalyst in private practice. He has worked in multiple settings of in-patient, outpatient and consultation services in child and adolescent, as well as adult psychiatry. For over thirty years he has served as the moderator, coordinator, contributor and is currently serving as the senior co-chair of the Vulnerable Child Discussion Group of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the Association for Child Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Etezady is a board member of Margret Mahler Psychiatric Research Foundation and a faculty member of the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. His publications include clinical, theoretical and research work in child and adult psychoanalysis. His recent writings include updated psychoanalytic perspectives on topics such as development of the self, narcissism in pathology and normality, faith and transformation, creativity and play.
Since 2007 he has served as the Head of the Faculty and the Chair of the Education Committee of the newly established Tehran Psychoanalytic Institute where he has been actively involved in construction and implementation of the training program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
