Doctor Hajmurad had questions for to answer as a patient which was refreshing. As a man I understand now why you need to see a urologist to have your prostate checked, that is his or hers profession. Not your primary.

I realize everyone has their bad days but one of the reasons I set up an appointment through ZocDoc for my mother to see Dr. Hajmurad approximately six (6) months ago and why I set up an appointment through ZocDoc for me to see him today was due to all the positive ratings and comments I read on this website. Unfortunately, I experienced the following:
1. The Douglasville Office appears to be in the basement of a Professional Building. The Waiting Room was very small and was not very appealing or comfortable.
2. I was late for my 4:15pm appointment because the address listed on the website was incorrect. It listed the address as 6095 Professional Parkway. However, after walking through that building, someone eventually told me they thought the street number for Dr. Hajmurad's office was actually 6025. Because the office was located in the basement, I had a difficult time finding it. Dr. Hajmurad's name was listed on the building's Directory and it took a while before someone told me where they thought his office was located.
3. I called the office and told them I was running late because of the incorrect address. I even asked if I should reschedule but I was told "no...it won't be a problem. Just get here when you can." However, when I entered the office it was obvious the receptionist was not happy. She asked for my name and I told her even though there were other patients in the office who could hear me, which was a HIPPAA Violation. She looked at her schedule and said you don't have an appointment with us. Fortunately, I brought the ZocDoc Appointment Confirmation with me and gave it to her. Again, I offered to reschedule but she apologized and said to go ahead and start completing paperwork and I will see if he will see you.
4. After she made copies of my Drivers License and Insurance Card, she went to speak to the Dr. Hajmurad. She was back in about 45 seconds and said come on back and give us a Urine Sample and you can complete the paperwork while you talk to the doctor.
5. I gave the sample, was escorted to the Exam Room and Dr. Hajmurad entered approximately two (2) minutes after I sat down.
6. When Dr. Hajmurad came into the Exam
Room he introduced himself, sat down, and started asking questions in a rapid manner while the door was still wide open. As a result, I could feel myself being careful with how I answered his questions for fear someone could hear us.
7. Even though this summary is rather long, I pride myself in answering questions with brief responses but necessary details. Knowing that it was late in the day, I made an even more cognizant effort to do that so that Dr. Hajmurad and his staff could leave. However, Dr. Hajmurad would constantly interrupt me to try and finish my sentences, correct me in a way that made me feel as if I was being scolded or educate me about certain aspects of the Kidneys, which I appreciated.
8. He then abruptly told me to pull my pants down so that he could do a Hernia and Prostrate Exam. I stood up and waited. He looked at me and said "go ahead pull them down to the floor." At this point, I had about had enough and was seriously thinking about walking out. However, I calmly asked him to close the door.
9. I have had Prostrate Exams before and find them, like most men, to be very uncomfortable. However, I don't know if it was because of what he found and/or if he may have forgotten to wear a lubricant, but it was by far the most painful Prostrate Exam I have ever undergone.
10. Dr. Hajmurad expressed his concerns about what he found/felt during the Prostrate Exam and stated I needed to be in his office (in a different town further away) so that he could run a battery of tests.
11. I apologized and told him I had been out of work all week and had an important meeting in the morning and needed to address some things were waiting for my return. He did not seem frustrated I could not see him tomorrow. He looked, sounded and acted like he was angry. After a couple of attempts to change my mind, he throws my paperwork on the desk, starts to write and says...."ok, if you don't care. I try to save....I try to help you out but if you can't make it that's fine." Of course, in my mind, I finish his partial statement..."I try to save"....with "I try to save your life." I must have looked and sounded scared when I asked, "Would it be okay if I set up a time to have the tests conducted on Friday" because he responded in a professional tone, I think we might be able to work that out'.
12. When I went to check out, the receptionist/nurse was extremely nice and stated Dr. Hajmurad wants to schedule some tests for you on Friday. I confirmed he had told me but "I am not sure I will be coming back. In fact, I almost left during the appointment because to me he was so rude and unprofessional. If he was upset about having to stay late, he should have just told me to reschedule.
13. The receptionist/nurse was very attentive to my concern and listened actively. She said some nice things about Dr. Hajmurad and encouraged me to consider seeing them on Friday.
14. Again, I want to emphasize, I realize everyone have bad days and/or they sometimes have issues or concerns that increase their stress, decrease their frustration tolerance and contribute to unprofessional behavior. Hopefully, Dr. Hajmurad will find this feedback helpful without being offended. He has too much to offer to treat patients so poorly when they already don't feel well.
