Dr. Madeline Cohen is among the 5% of practicing optometrists to have attained Fellowship in The American Academy of Optometry. She holds a Masters degree and is an honor graduate of Rutgers University.
Dr. Cohen performs comprehensive optometry, with specialization in difficult and unusual contact lens fittings, including bifocal, multifocal and monovision lenses, as well as the newer “hybrid” contacts for patients with corneal abnormalities.
She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1994 from the SUNY College of Optometry, and has practiced at Huntington Eye Care since 2004.
Dr. Cohen has a passion for giving back to the Long Island community, and she contributes her spare time treating patients with severe disabilities. She is fluent in American Sign Language.
Dr. Cohen is on the Board of Directors of the Nassau County Optometric Society, and has been a member of the American Optometric Association for the past 18 years.

Dr. Madeline Cohen was one of the worst professionals I have ever had to deal with. She never smiled once. She didn't even ask me how I was doing when I first walked into her office. When I told her I would like to use the same contacts I had been using for the past 8 years she just make a offhand comment that they were terrible contacts, but made no attempt to offer any alternative. I'm just a lay person who knows nothing about contacts, but she seemed fine to let me use the same pair of "bad" contacts. I'm not a needy person who needs a doctor to be super friendly, but at least have a little bedside manner. She also did not like that I said I would like to save money by ordering my contacts online. I would recommend another doctor. On the bright side, the rest of the staff was very friendly and helpful.
