I love Dr. Wood. She listens, doesn't judge, and always asks about me as a whole person, not just "symptoms". I travel 45 minutes to my appointments, so she is definitely worth it!

I am very happy with my decision to make Gateway Medical Associates my primary care provider. I like that the practice has several doctors at my location to provide timely appointments for their clients. For her part, Dr. Wood was purported to be one of the finest and most caring MD's on the Mainline, and my experience with her proved this to be the case. I can only hope that each of the other practitioners in the office are of the same caliber as Dr. Wood.

Madeline Wood, MD graduated 1st in her class of 250 from Jefferson Medical College in 1989 winning multiple awards at commencement.
After graduation, she completed a family medicine residency program at the Christiana Care Center (The Medical center of Delaware, Christiana Hospital, and A.I. Dupont Hospital).
Dr. Wood is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Association of Family Physicians as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She maintains a staff position at both Paoli and Bryn Mawr hospitals.
Her practice, Newtown Edgemont Family Medicine, has been in existence since 1992 with Dr. Wood being a cofounder with Dr. William Carroll. Her accomplishments include being voted “Top Doctor of the Main Line” in 2007 and 2010.
She enjoys being a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Family Practice, teaching 3rd and 4th year Jefferson medical students.
Dr. Wood also works at various sites of the Devereux Foundation providing medical care for children, adolescents, and adults with both physical and mental disabilities.
Pediatrics, women’s health issues, and preventative medicine are among her special interests. She recognizes the importance of treating the whole family and being a part of the growth and change of each member.
