Dr. Madhu Henry received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Affairs and Russian Studies at George Washington University. She went on to earn her Medical Degree at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. During residency she received special training in HIV and Hepatitis B/C treatment. She completed her three years as a National Health Corp Scholar at Unity Health Care to serve the poor and uninsured. She transitioned to work in Vienna in an entrepreneurial venture. Dr. Henry has worked with communities that had limited access to medicine and participated in old-fashioned house calls, new-age tele-medicine and launching a Well Woman Clinic to meet the needs of the community. She focused her continuing medical education, with the American Board of Holistic and Integrative Medicine, earning special training in Herbal, Ayurvedic and Physiatry Medicine. She also became a devoted practitioner of Bikram (Hot) Yoga.
Dr. Henry has four children and two rescue dogs. She speaks Russian, Spanish, Tamil and English. She is a vegetarian and likes to practice meditation and yoga to maintain balanced mental and spiritual health. It is her goal to blend her many varied skills in the practice of medicine to build relationships with patients that foster education for the promotion of good health.

Dr. Henry took way more than her allotted time with me as she does with all patients. Thus the long wait time. But she was thorough, caring and seemed to really care about me as a person, not just a patient, even though it was only my first visit.

I love Dr Henry. She is the most caring Dr. I have ever met. She is very concerned about her patients. I would recommend her to anyone searching for a concerned doctor. If she is running behind it is because she is caring for the patient. you are not a number or a chart number to her. She is well worth the wait.

I had several questions, such as should I get the shingles vaccine, the measles booster, and avoid getting a dreaded colonoscopy by doing a simpler test. She told me to get the shingles, that I needed a blood test to see if I needed a measles booster, and would get back to me about the colonoscopy. I was pleased with all her answers.

I really liked Dr. Henry. She is very warm and knowledgeable. My only complaint is the condition of the office I visited. It was really odd. It felt bare and old. Not very clean either. Just not what I'm used to for a doctors office.

I absolutely cannot recommend Dr. Henry highly enough. I have never before had a doctor that I felt was so concerned about every aspect of my health and in tune with me about which issues are highest priority and how to go about addressing them.
My only problem now is finding more members of my health team who can match the high standard that she has set.

The only reason I had to wait was because I myself was late to the appointment - so that was totally my own fault and NOT Dr. Henry's. Both she and staff were so nice about my tardiness, too, and didn't seem miffed at all (unlike some other practices that will charge a late fee or make u wait 2 extra hours). Dr. Henry diagnosed me immediately, sent out prescriptions, asked me a lot of extra health related questions that even occurred to me beforehand and some that I'd completely forgotten to mention in my medical history write-up. I liked that she seemed to actually want to know the whole scope of my health - past and present - instead of simply treating the singular one ailment I came in for, and actually cared enough to want to get to the bottom of the underlying cause - not just dope me up with meds in the short time. She seems to care about the long-term. Plus, she's funny, very amiable, and was really receptive to my 100s of questions I asked (i tend to do that) and really explained things well and with patience. I will return and recommend her based on this sole visit.

I was looking for a good primary care physician to stay with long-term so I did my research before booking an appointment with Dr. Henry. After several visits, I must say Dr. Henry and her staff live up to all the positive reviews. The staff is friendly and helpful across the board. Dr. Henry herself has the best bedside manner of any physician I've encountered. Unlike the last physician I went to for an annual physical, Dr. Henry does not simply go through the motions: she listens, thoroughly explains everything she does, and verifies that you understand and are satisfied with the care given. She is exceptionally down to earth and conveys genuine interest in both your health and your experience at her practice, not to mention she is simply enjoyable to talk to. I have definitely settled on Dr. Henry as my primary care physician for the foreseeable future.

I really enjoyed my visit with Dr. Henry. She was personable, attentive, and interested in me as an individual and a patient. I was also especially impressed that De. Henry, despite her Western training, was keen on thinking out of the box and willing to consider a more integrative approach. As a Vienna resident, the location can't be beat!

Dr. Henry is warm and knowledgable, easy to talk to. Everyone on the staff was pleasant and helpful. There was some sort of mix up with my culture so I only got results for 1 of the 3 tests I needed, which was frustrating. They offered to have me come in again to re-take.
