Dr. O is very easy to talk to. I've found our conversations helpful especially when dealing with difficult topics.
Dr. O has been a wonderful addition to my care. I trust her in making medication decisions & appreciate that she adjusts/increases meds slowly. It can be difficult to find a meds doctor to work with that you are comfortable. As a healthcare professional myself I would highly recommend & encourage others to see her.

More about Dr. Mallay Occhiogrosso, MD

It is always hard to be objective about oneself, but the adjectives patients and colleagues have used about me that stick out in my mind are kind, dedicated, and calm. I am deeply caring about and committed to my patients and meticulous in my clinical work. I specialize in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, women's mental health (reproductive psychiatry), and personality disorders. I partner closely with my patients to customize therapy and medication combinations that suit individual lifestyles and preferences, as I have found that a mutually satisfying doctor-patient relationship is key to a good outcome. I attended Weill Cornell Medical College, where I earned my degree in medicine. I also hold a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. I run my own practice and am affiliated with New York-Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY. I am board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and am a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry, the Association of Women Psychiatrists, and the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and catching up on the latest movies and books.

Dr. O is very easy to talk to. I've found our conversations helpful especially when dealing with difficult topics.
Great! Been seeing Dr. Occhiogrosso for 2 yrs- changed my life- no regrets.
Bad first impression as I booked an appointment through ZocDoc and then she arrived over 30 minutes late to her office citing she didn't think I would actually show up because I made the appointment online....This should have been the first red flag as she was late for many of our appointments. To make it worse she constantly probed me about why I would ever believe she wouldn't show up. Her definition of "on time" was arriving at her office within 5 minutes past our appointment time. That's why. Beyond that I can say she gave great insight and has an outstanding educational background but a relatively cold bedside manner. I discontinued treatment when she stopped taking insurance and had high out of pocket fees for weekly psychotherapy. It felt irresponsible for her to take on long term clients and accept their insurance only to tell me 6 months into treatment she felt accepting insurance was too much work for her. Go somewhere else, be treated more humanely.

She was rather cold and unhelpful. Did not feel like she listened to me. Do not plan to see her again and would not recommend her at all.
Dr. Occhiogrosso is very insightful, intelligent and attentive. She is the first of many doctors I have seen over the years that I completely trust.
