Dr. Momjian was raised in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California and completed his undergraduate studies at California State University Fresno. He subsequently came to Southern California for medical school and graduated from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. Thereafter, he completed his medical training at the UCLA/Kaiser Foundation Hospital, Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr Momjian is board certified in Family Practice.
Dr Momjian has a special interest in nutrition and weight management. He enjoys educating the public on non-pharmaceutical approaches to managing chronic medical problems. Dr Momjian has traveled and lived abroad in various countries. He has an awareness of the cultural sensitivities needed to provide effective communication with his patients. The office is quite small, but neat, clean, and attractive. The women at the front desk are nice and efficient, and keep their cool even with tons of last-minute evening non-appointment patients coming in for random reasons. Dr. Momjian is easy-going and understanding. I really liked that he claimed to be "anti-meds" -- that prescribing medication is the last thing he would do before changing lifestyle, which is my philosophy as well.

This was my first time using zocdoc and I was disheartened to find that the receptionist had no record of my appointment. I had received an email from zocdoc the day before informing me that the office had confirmed the appointment - I stood in the waiting area thinking "I should have known this was too good to be true." But the receptionist didn't seem to think it was a problem and she had me fill out paperwork while she processed my insurance.
After waiting for 30 it became apparent that they would be squeezing me in to their day. A nurse brought me to an exam room and took my vitals - after she left I waited for about 20 more minutes in the exam room before the doctor came in. I appreciated that they squeezed me in, but I was really hoping that this process would work as intended!
Dr. Momjian had a great bedside manor. I was especially impressed by his eye contact - it was always confident and comforting, both while he was speaking and listening. I was there for a yearly physical and I was surprised that I was never asked to strip down for a more thorough inspection. Is that not standard? Otherwise, he was straight-forward, informative and friendly. The doctor wanted to run some tests, and his skilled nurses were great at collecting the needed samples. He promised to follow up in the next week with the results, so I'm leaving my "likelihood to recommend this doctor" at at "maybe" until this experience is closed. If he calls back as promised, I'll probably increase the rating by another star.
