More about Dr. Manuel Schubert, MD
Dr. Schubert was born and raised in Germany before moving to Columbus, Ohio at the age of six. He moved to the Metro Detroit area prior to starting high school at Livonia Churchill. He then attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he was a Division I varsity wrestler, national qualifier, and Academic All-American for the Mountain Hawks. After his undergraduate studies, he obtained a master’s degree in Health and Biopharmaceutical Economics from Lehigh University while he completed his wrestling eligibility. Thereafter, he received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and also completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan. During residency, he helped care for the University of Michigan men’s basketball, ice hockey, and football teams. After residency, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Stanford University, where he assisted with providing medical coverage for Stanford athletes, including being one of the team physicians for the Stanford football team, as well as assisting with the care of the San Francisco 49ers. He has been active in high-level clinical and translational research, for which he has received numerous research awards, including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) Clinical Research Award in 2018.
In his free time, Dr. Schubert enjoys mountain biking, road biking, running marathons, snowboarding, hiking, and playing soccer. He also enjoys traveling and adventuring with his fiance.
