Mara L. Pulcheri, MD, is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has been working closely with Dr Albert Levy and his excellent team of Nurse Practitioners and medical staff for several years.
Dr. Pulcheri was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Brazil. She received her MD from Escola de Medicina Fundação Técnico Educacional Souza Marques, Brazil. She came back to the United States to complete her residency at New York Medical College.
Dr. Pulcheri earned the 2009 Patient’s Choice Physician of the Year Award for her ability to foster therapeutic physician-patient relationships. She is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP). She is also an Associate Member of the Alumni Association of New York Medical College.
Dr. Pulcheri is affiliated with most insurances and is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
The practice ensures that patient care is our top priority. We take pride in keeping waiting times to a minimum and making sure that all patients’ requests are dealt with expeditiously and efficiently, and with a smile.
Dr Pulcheri works with Joelle Koplin, a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner,(certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners). Joelle attended Vanderbilt University School of Nursing where she obtained her Master of Science in Nursing with Honors. She has been practicing as an NP in New York City since 2011 taking care of patients from infants to the elderly. Joelle is a compassionate and caring listener with a genuine interest in the patient-centered approach to healthcare. She is a great asset to our team here at Manhattan Family Practice.
