Dr P. was very good at helping me to understand the reason for his treatment recommendation. I know there are a lot of good allergist in Knoxville but I was very excited to find Dr. P for his expertise in immunology and autoimmune thyroid disorders. Now I have one doctor who csn manage my allergy & thyroid treatments. I encourage every potential patient to research his impressive training and credentials and schedule a consult.

Dr. Marek M. Pienkowski, MD, P.h.D is an engaging and energetic allergist and immunologist serving the cities of Knoxville, Bristol, Greeneville, Johnson City, and Kingsport in Tennessee for 30 years. Dr. Pienkowski received his medical degree from the Medical University of Warsaw in Poland and his Ph.D. in Immunology from the Medical Academy of Warsaw.
Dr. Pienkowski completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan and accomplished his Fellowship in Medicine- Clinical Immunology at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland.
Dr. Pienkowski’s career is punctuated by many remarkable contributions to the discipline of medicine. He has published nearly fifty times in peer-reviewed journals including the prestigious journal Nature. In addition, he has also won many awards and recognition for his outstanding work in his community, including the Top Allergist and Immunologist award by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals and the Republican Presidential Committee Medal of Honor.
Dr. Pienkowski is an active member of a number of medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Allergy and Immunology, and the Tennessee Medical Association. His clinical interests include allergic disease, asthma, collagen-vascular disease, immunodeficiency, and immuno-modulation.
Outside of work, he enjoys sailing, tennis, architecture, and music. He is also a licensed pilot.
