I actually saw Dr. Gutierrez (her husband) and he was the best doctor that I have seen in a long time. I actually felt like a patient. I wish he was my doctor for everything. He listened, gave advice, laughed and even shared some of his experiences.

She also served as a Major in the military and received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force Medical Corps in 1978.
She has been practicing OB/GYN in Tampa at the same location since 1980.

HORRIBLE. Cannot emphasize enough how insulting, rude, and inconsiderate this doctor was. Truly the most offensive bedside manner I have ever received by a healthcare professional. While I attempting discuss my medical history with her, she gave me an arrogant lecture about how I should’ve made an appointment sooner (after I explained that I had issues with my insurance). The icing on the cake was when I asked her about some issues I have been having with nausea, and she said, and I quote: “It’s probably because you are such an anxious person.” I said nothing to her whatsoever about anxiety problems. Not sure why all Zocdoc reviews of her are so great, if you read other websites the reviews more adequately match the service you will actually receive. Lesson learned- consult multiple sources. Never again.

Took them almost an hour to verify my insurance despite me being the only patient in the office. Once I was in my visit, the actual worst part started. Dr. Gelpi proceeded to tell me that my copper IUD would perforate my uterus and render me infertile, and asked me who had recommended this to me. When I told her that several doctors back home said that modern studies show this is fine, she denied the claims and cited issues that have since been corrected with the newer set of IUDs. She didn't offer alternatives or reasons why she felt this way. She didn't really do a medical history or offer STD testing services, and seemed confused as to what I wanted from the visit since I was healthy (I feel like well women's exams are fairly common?). She also spent much of the time complaining about how EMR is ruining the practice of medicine. Definitely would not recommend, ended up making an appointment the next day at the Women's Group for another well women's (love them, 100% would recommend. They very quickly gave me an ultrasound when they heard about my experience and confirmed my IUD was in the correct place. )

I really enjoyed the fact that I could see my gynecologist and not have the awkward silence or attention drawn to anything undesirable. We had pleasant conversation and addressed all of my health related questions and thoroughly planned for the future. I highly recommend her.

I’ve been here twice now. The second time I just went was for birth control. Although they take me immediately, The doctor barely discussed options with me. I expressed that I wasn’t sure which one I wanted and they didn’t really discuss it but kind of just pushed me towards one. Nice people. Especially the desk staff. But they just don’t really take their time and discuss things with you.
