Dr. Brito was amazing. I know that is very generic but it's the best way to describe her. She took her time, was very thorough, talked about options and showed a genuine interest in my health. She made me feel like she was invested in my health. I HIGHLY recommend her. The staff was very friendly and prompt. The office was clean. Anyone doing their due diligence in looking for an endocrinologist can book her and I promise you will be very pleased.

Maria Brito Ferreiras is a Board Certified Endocrinologist and the Director of the Mount Sinai Thyroid Center located in Union Square. She was the creator and Director of the Thyroid Unit at Northwell Health where she developed a multidisciplinary program for Thyroid Care along with a thorough curriculum for the Endocrinology Fellowship program. Dr. Brito holds the Endocrine Certification for Neck Ultrasound ECNU) granted by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and is also accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine (AIUM). She performs over 500 Thyroid/Parathyroid sonograms and ultrasound guided biopsies a year. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Medical School in the Dominican Republic and proceeded with Internal Medicine training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida. She sub-specialized in Endocrinology at Albany Medical College and has been practicing medicine for over 10 years. Her clinical focus includes Thyroid/ Parathyroid Disorders.

She was excellent. She saw me at the scheduled time. She was very professional and thorough as she reviewed my medical documents. She calmly and patiently explained what the nodule might be, the percentage of it being benign, procedure used to diagnose it and follow-up timeline. After a brief discussion, via phone, with a staff pathologist, an aspiration biopsy was performed - on the same visit.
I had a good and pleasant visit. I will follow-up with her.
