As a resident, she was awarded the Golden Apple Teaching Award at New Jersey Medical School and the Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. Dr. Gonzaga continues her teaching tradition through patient education, which she believes empowers women to take control of their bodies and their health.
