Dr. Oneida truly cares about each patient and every concern. She has a huge heart and wants the very best for those in her care. I have always felt comfortable expressing even small concerns to Dr. Oneida and she has been there for me and my family for some of our most joyous and most difficult life events. I just think she is absolutely the best!!!!

Maria Oneida, MD is a Utah native. Her parents say she wanted to be a physician since she was in second grade, and she spent her entire academic career focused on entering medical school. In 1984, Dr. Oneida returned to the area where she grew up to start her practice so she could care for people she’s known all her life. Dr. Oneida is known by her patients to be completely committed to their health and well-being. She loves family medicine because it’s an opportunity to care for the entire family, and this is reflected in her philosophy, “my patients are my family.”
Dr. Oneida graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals Family Practice program. She is a member of the American Academy & American Board of Family Practice and is an Associate Faculty member for the University of Utah Medical School. Dr. Oneida is a member of the teaching faculty at A.T. Still University/Utah region, and practices a full range of family medicine caring for infants, adolescents, and adults with an emphasis on women’s health that includes obstetrics.
Dr. Oneida lives in South Jordan with her husband and children. In her free time she enjoys reading, particularly science fiction, music and singing.

During my last two visits I've had the distinct impression that Dr Oneida was in a rush. Today when I asked about genetic counseling and testing, instead of explaining the different testing options she told me "We do this one test at 15 weeks." End of story. As this is not my first pregnancy, I knew there were other options available and so I asked about the specific test I had during my first pregnancy and I will be having that test done. But I did not appreciate the assumption that I would just go along with whatever the office usually does. I don't like the one treatment fits all approach. I believe doctors and patients should have thorough discussions of treatment options and make decisions together.
