Her goal during patient visits is to help women understand their bodily functions and get them to be actively involved in the upkeep of their well-being.
Fluent in English and French, Dr. Abougou earned her medical degree from the Faculté de Médecine de Tours, Université François-Rabelais. She is also residency trained in obstetrics and gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College, Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center. She is a compassionate practitioner, who believes in educating her patients about their health for long and short-term benefits.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Abougou is a warm and caring obstetrician and gynecologist. I was a new patient. I was made to feel extremely comfortable by the nurse and Marie , the doctor.
My only negative would be that one of the receptionist seemed bothered and had an attitude.

. During my appointment the doctor asked what brought me there to which I explained to her that for the previous mammogram I recieved a note saying that they found abnormalities and that i would need to get the mammogram taken again, I found this out by reading the mail meaning the whole time the previous doctor knew about this but no one in the office contacted me to inform me on this. When I was telling my story at the appointment the doctor was constantly trying to make excuses for the other doctor which was unfortunate because no one wants to hear excuses when the situation could be life threatening and I work in health care so I know how it should go but she should not try to empathize with the other doctor when it could've been life threatening to me instead of arguing with me about it she should've tried to be more understanding towards my situation.also she asked me if I wanted breast exam to which I told her yes but then she changed her mind and told it wasn't necessary,

This doctor was friendly, yet extremely dismissive of issues I was explaining. I provided a detailed list of symptoms, but she instead performed a very quick routine exam. My appointment was on a Wednesday, I was not able to get test result read until the following Monday. The test she performed was contaminated by the use of too much gel and I had to retest the next week. I would only recommend this doctor if you are perfectly healthy and don’t have any questions or issues to address.

I would tell a friend to consider Dr. Abougou because she was extremely professional, considerate, informative, and friendly. It was my very first time seeing Dr. Abougou and, I was completely impressed by her. I made up my mind while I was still in the examination room that I would return to see Dr. Abougou on an annual or as-needed basis. I loved her!

Horrible doctor. Does not listen or care for the patient. DO NOT schedule with her. She performed a Pap smear in less than 5 minutes. does not ask any of the patien's history or care about the patients issue. Horrible.

I recently moved to the area and needed a gyn for my yearly appointment but I had a lot of anxiety about seeing someone new. The doctor was very nice and put me at ease. She made the process very quick and didn’t draw out the appointment with a million questions. I was in and out of the office quickly with no issues.
