Dr. Mariela Salinas is fellowship-trained in Dermatology and board-certified in Family Medicine. She completed her dermatology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio (UTHSCSA), under the direct mentorship of world renowned, Dr. Richard Usatine. The program is designed for board-certified family physicians who wish to develop their expertise in the full range and depth of Medical and Surgical Dermatology.
Prior to the fellowship, Dr. Salinas completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in El Paso and received her Medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua.
Dr. Salinas is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, the American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association. She is committed to providing a high standard of medical, surgical and cosmetic skin care to all her patients, including adults and children.
Her clinical interests and expertise include the prevention, detection and treatment of skin cancer, acne, psoriasis, hair loss, eczema and other dermatological conditions. She also has an interest in cosmetic dermatologic procedures including non-surgical skin rejuvenation, Botox, Dysport, fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Voluma) chemical peels and Micro needling.
Dr Salinas utilizes her background in family medicine to provide a comprehensive medical approach to her patient’s dermatological conditions. The combination of her education, training, attention to detail, and bedside manner create a positive experience for patients when they visit.
