I am passionate about being a healthcare provider because I believe this is one of the most rewarding professions. I have always had a strong desire to help those in need. I find meaningful purpose in providing not only care but also knowledge to others in a way that helps them truly understand what is going on with their health and feel empowered to better care for themselves. Being a healthcare provider allows me to work as a team with my patients and their families to develop the best evidence-based treatment modalities for the best possible outcomes.
A primary care provider should serve as an immensely knowledgeable practitioner who looks at the patient as a “whole-being” rather than just a disease process. I believe healthcare should always include observation of a patient’s mental and behavioral health and assess whether they are in the right state of mind to receive and process information regarding their physical well-being. This is important because if an individual is not mentally healthy, they may not be able to apply the information effectively to bring about physical change, whether or not you are treating a mental health condition.
I hold a Master’s degree in Family Nursing from Simmons University, a Bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College, and an Associate’s degree from Bryant & Stratton College.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, practicing yoga and meditation, and watching football.
