He then moved to the United States to complete his residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent's Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the same institution. Dr. Garcia completed additional specialty training in cardiac nuclear imaging from Massachusetts General Hospital and specialty training in advanced cardiac imaging from Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Garcia is a part of Cardiology - Montefiore Faculty Practice Group. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board certified by the National Board of Echocardiography. Dr. Garcia’s medical experience is vast and impressive. His areas of special interest include clinical heart problems that directly affect patients in the tri-state area, especially in the Bronx, which has an extremely high prevalence of heart disease risk factors such as obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, and hypertension.

In addition to serving his patients, Dr. Garcia was the director of echocardiography and director of cardiovascular imaging at Cleveland Clinic from 2000 to 2006.
