Dr. Mattar is very warm and approachable. We discussed my issues and various options of testing to determine what the problem might be. His staff was friendly as well. This is my first visit to a gastroenterologist and Dr. Mattar made the experience pleasant and not daunting. There seemed to be an issue with scheduling at first in that there was a slot open for my appointment time, but it had not been assigned to me. I was concerned that I'd be turned away, but the receptionist got everything sorted out and I was able to see Dr. Mattar without having to wait.
He made me feel comfortable, asked a lot of questions, and made sure I understood the reasoning for his testing plan. He was conscious of cost to me. He wrote everything down.

They have EHR problems in that hospital. Otherwise I think I might have been seen sooner.

I liked that he gave me a lot of options as far as treatment, and took the time to go over what we had talked about (he typed up everything) at the end.
I was first examined by a nurse practitioner. While I had some initial reservations about this, he was extremely courteous and professional. Once the nurse practitioner examined, Dr. Mattar dropped by. He did not rush, asked me quite a few additional questions about my symptoms, and discussed an appropriate treatment with me. A couple of days later, I feel much better. He was very helpful, and I would highly recommend him.
Everyone was very polite and professional.
