About Dr. Mark Clarke
Dr. Clarke is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Anesthesiology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Howard University and completed residencies in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Nassau University Medical Center and in Anesthesiology at New York University. He is an Assistant Professor of OBGYN at Howard University School of Medicine. Dr. Clarke has a special interest in reproductive rights, and his goal is to provide quality, compassionate care for women.

He or his office is hard to reach by phone. This is frustrating when you need a prescription refilled or have questions.

Good doctor but he's always out of town and doesn't have a referring Dr. So if you have an emergency don't count on him.

Ladies please beware and choose another provider.
When I arrived the support staff was very nice and I filled out the paperwork. When I went in the back to do the pap smear procedure, Dr. Clarke did not take to the time to speak with other than "Hello" and "you will get your results in a week". He was not friendly at all and didnt really seem to care that I chose his office to provide this very important service.
He told me that he would call me in a week and he would put in my prescription for birth control. However, he did neither. I had to call the office today to follow-up and get my results. I asked about my prescription and the office assistant lied to me and told me that they sent it on the date of my appointment. When I called CVS they told me Dr. Clarke's office sent the prescription TODAY. The whole experience was extremely irritating and unprofressional. I highly recommend that you DO NOT choose Dr. Clarke for your care.

I can not reccomend this office enough.. again, I did not see a doctor but the nurse who assisted me through a very difficult time was wonderful and knowledgeable. I thank this woman immensely for making me feel comfortable and welcomed.

It was just an okay visit. I know that annual exams are pretty quick and to-the-point, but I only saw the doctor for maybe a minute... and that's being generous. While he was kind, the appointment felt very rushed and impersonal. I don't feel very confident that a thorough enough exam was performed. The waiting room area also didn't appear very clean--the carpet could definitely use a thorough shampoo.

Got an appointment right away. Didn't have to wait long in waiting room. Doctor was fast and courteous in treating my issues (which I really needed fast treatment for). Would definitely go again. Also cost was low as I paid out of pocket for the office visit. I usually go to Planned Parenthood and my experience was equal to or even better than PP. Equally professional as any other gynecologist I've been to and much faster appts than a lot of gyns when I need a fast appointment.

Everything about my visit was excellent. The receptionist was very friendly, the nurse was personable and helpful, and the Dr. Clarke was kind and reassuring. The wait time was minimal and the entire process was efficient. After going through three gynecologists in the past five years, I am glad to have found one I am happy and comfortable with. Overall, an incredibly wonderful experience, from check in to check out.

Sometimes, a long wait - one time online booking wasn't even in the system. Saturday hours was the main attraction for me. My primary issue was that my annual blood work was never properly relayed to me. Usually, I would have to call to inquire and ask that a copy be mailed. The last time through billing documentation, I was later informed that the lab samples were faulty, yet no one from the office ever followed-up with me regarding the blood sample handling issue. I was eventually hospitalized because my doctor never properly advised me of the seriousness of my chronic anemia, especially in light of my medical history. If I had been advised of the seriousness, I would have sought to better manage it before making any long term dietary changes.

I like Dr. Clarke and his team. However, I do have an issue with follow-ups and test results. I constantly have to contact the office about my lab results, sometimes two-three times a week. His assistant always tells me that she will call me as soon as the results come in, but she always forgets. Also, I've left Dr. Clarke several messages to return my calls, and he never does, which leads me to the conclusion that my messages are not being communicated as urgencies. Overall, I do believe that Dr. Clarke is very caring and knowledgeable. I just hope that I can finally receive proper medical treatment under his care and guidance.

Dr. Clarke and his team were so kind and warm when I was going through the emotional roller-coaster of an unwanted pregnancy. I never felt judged or looked down upon.
He was helpful and informative about my options. I felt taken care of every step of the way.
While I hope to never find myself in a similar situation again, I know that if I was, I would not hesitate calling Dr. Clarke's office again.

I appreciate that the doctor offers Saturday hours. However, I've have always wished for better follow-up re blood work results. This last year, my results were practically worthless due to poor specimen handling. As a matter of routine, I request that a copy of my results be mailed to me and a follow-call from the doctor to discuss results especially since I am a post-gastric bypass patient. I received neither. I had to call both years to request a copy of my results.

Dr. Clarke and his team were very nice. Dr. Clarke was running late, but his staff made sure to keep me informed, which I really appreciated. I was the first person seen when he walked in, so I was grateful for that!
I was in and out in under 15 minutes once he arrived. I like efficiency when going to the gynecologist, so I definitely will be returning.

I like Dr. Clarke. But his office seems poorly managed. I have had to wait more than an hour to be seen twice. Also, his staff at the front desk is very poorly trained. They do not return messages nor do they seem to pass messages along to him. I wouldn't recommend this doctor for those reasons.

Dr. Clarke is extremely kind, compassionate, and professional. His nurse Dina is also fantastic. I do wish that the front desk was a bit more hospitable, however Dr. Clarke is great.

Dr. Clarke and his staff are excellent. They are so caring and polite and have great attitudes. The only only low point of the visit was the wait. I had a 9:30 appointment but got lost on my way there, so I called them at 9:15 to let them know I'd be 10 minutes late. Even though I arrived at 9:40, I didn't leave the office until almost 11:15 and the procedure only took 5 minutes. I really like Dr. Clarke, but it's not possible to get in and out very quickly.

very helpful , also close to wear I live . I look forward into having a longtime repore with Dr. Clark . He was kind and a great listener .
