Even though we met at 6am, Dr. Gloss was professional and patient as we discussed my reason for visiting. Looking forward to my next appointment, which I have never before said about a doctor's appointment of any type.
Dr. Gloss was very professional and straight to the point. He provided detailed information about my diagnosis and treatment. He was the first doctor to come up with a creative solution to my issues, which I appreciated. It would have been nice if he had explained more about the reading information he provided, because it was lengthy) and I'm not sure it all pertained to me.

He completed his medical internship at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, and then completed his psychiatric residency at Mclean Hospital in Belmont, MA, in 1998. Mark R. Gloss, MD is the first private psychiatrist in the Boston Massachusetts area to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Therapy for the treatment of depression. He loves tropical fish, classical music and technology and is very dedicated to his work and patients. He has been in private practice for more than fifteen years. He always is looking for the best treatments that are available to treat his patients. He is especially mindful of those who have the hardest time with treatment resistant psychiatric conditions, that require more than the typical level of treatment. This is why he has acquired the technology for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). He was the first private psychiatrist in the Boston area to offer TMS Therapy for the treatment of a multitude of psychiatric conditions. He is pleased to make it available to his patients, and also offers this therapy as an adjunct to the services of other practitioners in the area.

A bit messy in the office, and the fish tank was kind of gross. But the doctor was wonderful!
Messy, disorganized office and very odd demeanor. Support staff were super nice, though

I thought his office was a bit messy, but I liked him very much as a psychiatrist.
Very genial and thorough. Listened and worked with me.

I told him about two medications I was taking. Bc I have two insurances that almost no one in the psychiatric field including therapists takes - I had to travel an hour there (my husband did bc I have panic attacks driving) and then he had a 2 hour ride back bc of rush hour traffic. I filled out 8 forms / it told the meds I was on and I also told him what I was on when he asked. The one he increased I’ve been on the highest dose before - it didn’t work. The other med is a controlled substance which if he doesn’t want to follow the regimen that other drs have that he can clearly see how long this med was prescribed 25 years and the same dose - then there was no talk of taking me off the right way which I found surprising bc the psychiatrist that was temp before him told me that he would speak to him about how he thought I needed it but if Dr Gloss didn’t want it thrown in then he told me dr gloss or the pcp would have to take me off the right way. You can’t just stop it. My pcp said she doesn’t feel comfortable prescribing it in lower doses even to get me off and this dr didn’t even bring it up - yet knew I was on it / it was written down and I told him when he asked. He was my last hope. It’s very hard to find a dr near me (and he’s not) that takes Medicare and Medicaid together. Most around here don’t take the second one making me pay through 20 percent. So it’s not easy when you’re on disability to pay that. Seems like no drs understand.
Would not recommend to anyone.

Very good
kind, caring and professional!
Very good listener
Listened to me without interrupting. Made thoughtful remarks. Was empathetic and even provided me educational packet. I felt like we were trying to collaborate rather than he just dish out instructions that I follow like a robot. He also provided his honest thoughts and actually made me feel like I could be better. This is just my first impression.
Very approachable, kind and knowledgeable. What a difference compared to some other psychiatrists! He asked pointed, efficient questions without giving me the feeling that he was going down a list or checking boxes -- it still was very conversational and pleasant.
I was very satisfied with my experience at my appointment today. The waiting room is comfortable, and I find looking at the large aquarium relaxing. Dr. Gloss called me in right on time. He is a good listener. He told me about a new treatment he thought could help me. When I asked questions he answered them in a clear and direct way. I have complete confidence in his decisions. I felt like he was focused on me the entire time, and he wasn't rushing. I left feeling that appointment had been very worthwhile, and that Dr. Gloss is supporting me through the struggle with my illness.
