My visit with Dr. Horowitz was as good as it gets -- he's clearly a great doctor who clearly showed concern over my issues, going in-depth to ask for past medical details, etc. As a doctor located in one of the busiest areas of Manhattan, he was concise, professional, and to-the-point enough to make any busy New Yorker proud, yet gentle and thorough enough to not make you feel like your visit was rushed or dealt with haphazardly. Thanks doc!

I have been referred to the office of Dr Horowitz by a colleague. I made the appointment through Zocdoc which was quick and straightforward. The purpose of the visit was annual physical check up where I was seen by a trainee, which is fine up to a certain point but I would have expected to have a more one on one time with the doctor himself as a new patient. Fast forward to three months after the check up I still haven’t received the results of my check up! I have left the office voicemails which have not been responded to either. This is unacceptable!

A lot of bad docs out there. This physician is among the worst. Saw him 3x within several weeks just to write a script for a med I’ve been taking for a long time, originally prescribed by my out-of-state doc. Horowitz intentionally wrote short term scripts so that I’d have to come back, pay my co-pay then bill my insurer for. He’d spend less than a minute with me, LITERALLY and managed to be arrogant and reductive in even just those few moments and even though it’s only a matter of some weeks that I’ve seen him thrice he had no idea who I was on each visit . Saw him last (and I mean I will never see him again) several days ago, same routine except when my pharmacist called me to say that the doc had written the script for 2/3 of what I take. It’s a class of meds from which a sudden cessation will guarantee seizures, possibly death. I called him 6x to get him to rewrite it properly. Each time his assistant assured me that he’d given the message to the doctor and I would be hearing back from him. I never did. So today I went to see a real doctor who spent 45 minutes with me. No, he doesn’t take insurance and no I cannot afford to do that on a regular basis but this doctor understands medicine, cares and actually subscribes to the Hippocratic oath. Horowitz is a cynical man who represents so much of what is so broken about our country’s healthcare system. He’s literally a danger.

Dr. displayed typical Dr. arrogance. More interested in what he has to say that what the patient (this patient, anyway) has to say and keen on getting me out of the room asap, It was an ok visit that merely reconfirmed the experience one generally has with Drs.
Nice people but the office looks like a make shift attempt at best. They conducted a urine sample by making me go down the hall (outside of the office) to the public restroom. When I returned from the very uncomfortable experience of passing strangers in the hallway with my urine sample, I was told to “go put it on the table” . Mind you that table has plenty of other similar looking bottles on it. Very uncomfortable and seems not legitimate. Do not recommend.
I have to admit that there were a few bad reviews here that had be skeptics but I took the chance anyway. Although a few of dr. Horowitz' colleagues may not be the most personable, the dr himself is very kind, caring, and most importantly extremely thorough. He made me feel really comfortable when he could tell I was nervous and made my results very clear. I would def recommend him.
The receptionist was very unprofessional. Chatting on the phone, taking personal phone calls and acting as thought the patient was invisible. The receptionist also thought it was proper to then ask "do I need help with anything?" While she was on a personal call. My thoughts: Had you been off of your personal call, then maybe you would know I need assistance. I visited on July 20th and I still have YET to receive "prior authorization" for a prescription needing to be filled and it STILL is not filled and here it is now September. Pretty much a waste of my time. Nope, I Wouldn't go back due to the lack of urgency, and manners of the front office receptionist. The Doctor in Residence was awesome though and very helpful. :)

Excellent. Efficient, clear and helpful.

Extremely thorough. Asked many questions and would inform me of my results in 2 days. Ada, the phlebotomist is also very pleasant.
It was strangest experience. He is currently using the office of orthopedics. He didn't have a receptions and he was very curt. I asked how long he was in the office. He said 3 months but has been practicing in the neighborhood for 20+ years. I left feeling like it was a prank from Zocdocs.
If you have any care for your peace of mind, do not go see Dr Horowitz. To begin, the facility was filthy. Dust and dirt were covering the corners of the practice. They NEVER answer the phone. I'm constantly being put on hold. His receptionist has the WORST attitude problem. She couldn't care less about being helpful and did little more than grunt her way through the exchanges we had. When I asked her to send some blood work to my endocrinologist as well as give me a referral for my sonogram, she became impatient and snappy with me. When I would call and say my name she'd reply: "mhm". Which is totally a garbage way to go about interacting with patients. If you look at the negative reviews on yelp (which there are TOO many of) the majority of people seem to have had similar horrible experiences with Dr Horowitz receptionist. Last but not least, I found the doctor to be unnecessarily alarming and totally unreachable when I needed him most. To summarize, he dropped a fairly serious diagnosis on me, gave me hardly any information regarding the illness and what I should be doing, and was no where to be found when I tried to follow up with him later that day and the day after that. It was already a distressing diagnosis made even more distressing by the fact that he went MIA. Needless to say, his receptionist did not hesitate to be incredibly rude to me when I tried to explain to her why i needed to speak to him. Whoever is reading this, SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND FIND A RESPECTABLE DOCTOR.

As a fat person it's so hard to find a doctor who will actually listen to your symptoms as opposed to just attributing everything wrong with you to your weight. I appreciated how considerate he was and willing to answer all of my questions. Highly recommend Dr. Horowitz

It was very efficient and comfortable
Verified patient
Pretty quick and to the point, which was good in this case. Works with med students, who sometimes see you first, but the practice is upfront about that, so not a surprise.
Doctor Horowtiz is ponctual, very kind, professional and patient. He takes his time to explain and to listen to you and he check on you condition after the appointment to see if you feel better. I highly recommended this doctor.

The experience at Dr. Horowitz's was just what I was looking for. Not a long wait, did not feel rushed in my time with the doctor, and overall very helpful. Highly recommended.
