Graduated from St. Louis University Medical School. Fellowship in Hematology at the University of Utah in salt Lke City, Utah, School of Medicine. On the faculty at Columbia University College of physicians and Surgeons in New York. Dr. Cooper is board certified in Hematology and Internal Medicine.
He was one of the first doctors practicing travel medicine in New York City. He is a member of The International Society for Travel Medicine and keeps up-to-date with all the latest research, protocols and information about geographic medicine and global treks and the health risks they present.
He regularly attends lectures of The Wilderness Medicine Society. He has given lectures for the Museum of Natural History tours, forTravel Dynamics, and other travel organizations. His lectures and articles cover topics including: high altitude sickness, travel for the elderly and travel during pregnancy.
Dr Cooper has travelled to the Himalaya mountains inTibet, the central regions of China, the outback of Australia, to the Great Barrier reef, hiked at Ayres rock, the Molllaca Islands in the Indonesian archipelago, Vietnam and Cambodia and of course throughout Europe. He has lectured on travelers’ diseases at the medical school in Bali, Indonesia.
Dr. Cooper was recently honored by the Fulbright Foundation for medical care of scholars rescued from the dangerous political conflicts in their country.

Dr Coopers practice is a respite to NYC doctors offices. Dr Cooper spends time with patients, and remembers your case. The staff is extremely helpful and kind, easy to schedule an appointment and "fit in" at the last minute. Overall a much better experience that leaves you confident about your care.
