Absolutely the best doctor I have seen in this city so far. Dr. Ahmed is a pleasure to see. I've been to her 2 times, and each time I walked out with a ton of information about my injury.
I hurt my shoulder during softball. The first to Dr. Ahmed went great. She tried to find the point of pain by making me do several motions. Unfortunately, I had enough rest before going to her, and she wasn't able to reproduce the pain. She advised to come again if the pain comes back. And the pain came back after a few days. So I went to her for a second consultation. This time she made me do a range of motions to identify which muscle was causing the issue, and explained to me thoroughly, taking all the time needed, what was really happening in my shoulder. She even has a short ultra sound session to look further into my shoulder for possible tears to confirm since I was so worried about it.
The best experience I've ever had visiting a Sports Medicine Specialist. Highly recommend seeing her if you've injured yourself physically in any way.

Dr. Ahmed practices sports, spine and musculoskeletal medicine which dovetail with her love of the outdoors.
Dr. Ahmed received her medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar and was peer selected as the recipient of the Good Physician Award. She completed her internship at the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia College of Physician and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medical College. During residency, she also rotated at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she treated and managed patients with complex orthopedic and metastatic injuries. She is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine.
Prior to medical school, she earned a Master of Science degree in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan, which ties into her strong research interests in regenerative medicine and nutritional genomics as well as their application towards musculoskeletal medicine, including sports injury management outcomes and the molecular mechanisms that underlie physical performance, cellular injury and aging.
Dr. Ahmed participates in several scientific organizations including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society, and the New York County Medical Society.
She is an avid swimmer and trained for many years in ballet, tap and jazz.

I recently injured my shoulder and have seen several specialists for treatment. Dr. Ahmed was by far the most attentive and comforting of the doctors I saw, taking almost a full hour to answer my questions and explain her diagnosis. She is quite funny but very professional and was able to put many of my concerns to rest over the course of my visit. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for sports medicine treatment.

Dr. Ahmed was great. Unlike many doctors, she paid attention to what I felt and thought, and she understood that she wasn't just treating me to be pain free but to be able to do the sports and activities that are meaningful to me. She took the time to carefully explain everything to me and answered all my questions without seeming bored or being flip. Most importantly, she seemed extremely knowledgeable and really wanted to figure out what was causing me pain without jumping to conclusions that would make her job easier. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience.
Dr. Ahmed is extremely thorough, patient and attentive and has a wonderful bedside manner. She took her time listening to my description of my symptoms and then we went through a number of diagnostic movements to pinpoint the problem. It was entirely unrushed and she repeated several of these movements with me to ensure an accurate diagnosis, which I really appreciated.
She gave me advice and follow-up instructions clearly, taking into account my needs and preferences in my training schedule. All-in-all, I was in excellent hands from start to finish and felt strongly that she wanted to find the best resolution to this problem for me.
This was one of the best experiences I have had with a medical professional in New York.

She is hands down the best doctor I have ever been to. No competition.
I've been to a very well known doctor in the past regarding my bad knee, but after visiting Dr. Marwa Ahmed I immediately realized that Dr. Ahmed was on a much higher level.
She is extremely kind, has AMAZING bedside manners and she has an amazing way of making you feel comfortable and completely at ease.
She is extremely knowledgeable, tech savvy and knows her stuff EXTREMELY well. She gave me a very descriptive diagnosis of my problems which was really good to know as a patient.
Moreover, she has a brilliant, holistic way of treating your problem and she assigns medicine very carefully because she is against assigning her patients medicine unless necessary (which is the best possible position to have in regards to medicine).
If you're still undecided on choosing your Orthopedic doctor, then take my advice and go see Dr. Marwa Ahmed because in my humble opinion she is the best!

I cannot recommend this doctor enough. She has a very holistic approach to medicine, and was very upfront and understanding. She listened to my concerns and went over a range of treatment options, including all pros and cons. She thoroughly and thoughtfully answered all of my questions, and is fully up to date on the latest treatment options, At no point did I feel she was rushing me, and she truly seems to care about her patients. She also has a great sense of humor. Her office was also able to see me immediately, so that's a plus!
